Program update: 7.1.0.8
When updating from Ad-Aware 2007, I and others received 'Error 1316' message on un-install of 2007 version I was able to fix this by running Registry Mechanic. I'm not sure if others (eg. CCleaner) will do the same reg fix? Maybe someone can say?
Oh ya... Smart Scan seems mighty slow. Other than that, no complaints.

Hi jimfitter; Welcome to GSF.
Thanks for the info.
Reading through the Lavasoft support forum, it appears the previous version has some minor uninstall issue, and they have recommended that users run the Microsoft
Windows Installer CleanUp Utility before installing the new version.

Thank you for the welcome. I never noticed the info you mentioned in the Lavasoft forums. Thanks for that, too.
I take it no outside emoticons, eh? Guess I better read the rules.

1.
Which AV is used in the Plus and Pro version?
It uses the Avira engine.
2.
Will using the Plus or Pro version give conflicts with an already installed other AV? (I guess it will, because having two AV's is not exactly recommended)?
It shouldn't except when scanning the system with one or the other, you should use the recommended option to disable the realtime AV in the one you aren't using at the time
-------
(Edit: Members note: one AV is enough, make your choice. Multiple AVs, Firewalls etc cause conflicts.)
3.
Is it possible not to install the AV which is build in the Plus and Pro version?
You can disable the Ad-Aware AV extended engine in the *settings* area.
