Hi Everyone,
I only got around to upgrading to the latest DefenseWall build this week, and noticed now with the 2.45 version
that when I perform a backup burning to DVD /CD the time to complete has increased from 5 minutes to about
26 minutes with DefenseWall enabled, and with DW disabled the time again is like 5 minutes to complete, and
I do not see this behavior when backing up to external hard drives.
I currently use CDBurnerXP for DVD/CD burning is there some other software I can use that does not conflict with DW ?
Thanks for any information,
cbella

Please, mail me to support and I'll send you the latest build of DW's driver. Meantime, I'll try to reproduce the issue on my side.

Hi Ilya,
Thanks for your response, here is a link to the CD/DVD burning software I use:
http://cdburnerxp.se/I have been using this program with DefenseWall for over two years and never saw this time to burn delay
before until I returned from vacation and updated to the latest 2.45 DW build and tried to burn a bunch of
our families vacation pictures to a disk.
I will email you and can you please include instructions for me on how to update the driver.
Take care and enjoy your day !

Hi Ilya,
I finally received your email, thanks !
I sent you a reply with my results, in essence what I find is that if you use CDBurnerXP with DW enabled and click on the burn options to leave disk open it takes 8 minutes to complete
and with the finalize disk option it takes 26 minutes to complete, and if you disable DW it takes about 4 minutes to complete very odd results aye ?
Thanks again,
cbella

In fact, those drivers are not completed, they have the groups of its hooks switched off. You need check al the drivers from the set until you don't meet the one that start cause problems. You haven't completed the task.
I tried to reproduce the issue at my computer, but had no luck. So, remote debugging is the only way to find and fix the issue.

Hi Ilya,
I had not realized that, all I did was unzip dwall.zip and copy the dwall.sys 1 than dwall.sys 2 to C:/Windows/System32/drivers
and rebooted after installing each one so what else do I need to do to complete this task ?
Thanks for your assistance.

If you mean a single dwall.zip file (not dwalls.zip, which is a set) and you had no issues with it- I send you new driver with debug output.

Hi Ilya,
Let me try to explain I received the dwall.zip (set) and I opened it with WinZip, and there were seven dwall.sys files.
I copied all seven to a separate folder I created, and than I copied dwall.sys1 to C:/Windows/System32/Drivers and rebooted.
I tried to burn a DVD and experienced the same time delay problem using CDBurnerXp with Defensewall enabled.
I than copied dwall.sys2 to the windows directory noted, rebooted, and in burning a DVD there was no time delay problem
and which is why I thought this was resolved.
I will check email for the new driver with the debug output can you please provide me a explanation on what you need me to do.
Thanks Much,
cbella

Not dwall.zip, but dwalls.zip. You missed _s_ here. OK, now I understand. Please, continue the test with other dwall.sys drivers from the set. I need to know which one cause the problem.

Hi Ilya,
I ran the debug view and emailed you the results, and as stated have no problem with dwall.sys2, and will continue with dwalls.zip 3 through 7.
Thank you for the really concise instructions on how to run that debug tool.
