I am ever so curious right now. Firewalls..Do I need one.. I see so much controversy on his subject. I have to ask do I really need a Firewall.

I have Windows Firewall shut down. I run Comodo Firewall Pro (Free) along with a Belkin MIMO Wireless Router.
I do quite a bit of Internet searching.
But I do some personal work on this computer. I do banking online. Paid for Hosting by Credit Card online. Myself I feel more Secure with a good firewall and the router..I've been trained this way.

This is what got me thinking, its from a forum I view.

You do NOT need a firewall; the one that come with windows is more then enough "protection" for the home user. We have had several writeups in our Information Avenue news on this, and have been saying this for several years. You will find many other reliable tech sites have now joined us in this recommendation, with the excetpion of those that affiliate and sell them. Firewalls are one of the main causes we see of programs that won't run right, or sites that cannot be accessed, in the numerous support mails we respond to. Don't fall for all the scare tactics used by firewall companies and their affiliates.

Appreciate comments on this ..
Thanks Ron..

I run a Router/Firewall and only use Windows Firewall that came with Windows Vista. I have completely dumped, all Software Firewalls from my home Network .

Only you can choose what to run. if you want to monitor and block whats getting out to the Internet, then stay with Comodo. If you don't need or want to monitor whats getting out. Uninstall Comodo, Turn on Windows Firewall. :)
