I have a real time mapping program collecting data from network resources. I was going to use AVG free anti-virus, but I found that my data was becoming time late - losing about 5 minutes for each 15 minutes of run time. When my targets move, I need to see them move now, not 5 minutes from now!
Does anyone know of a virus protection program, free or not, that will not delay my input data?

Make sure you have completely removed AVG...then try AVAST

How to uninstall AVG (remove it permanently from PC)Click on Start > All Programs > AVG 7.5 > Uninstall AVG Anti-Virus for Windows.
If you experience any problems with the uninstallation procedure, please follow the steps below:

Download the latest installation file of AVG from Downloads-Programs

After downloading, run this file and choose the Uninstall Product option in the Select Setup Type dialog
Finish the uninstallation process
