Sun ODF Plugin v. 1.2 for Microsoft Office

• The Sun ODF Plugin for Microsoft Office gives users of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint the ability to read, edit and save to the ISO-standard Open Document Format (ODF).

The new release of the ODF Plugin, version 1.2, improves the import and export of ODF files into Microsoft Office, increasing the interoperability of the plugin. Supports: Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 (Service Pack 1 or higher) or the equivalent stand-alone version of Microsoft Office Word, Excel or PowerPoint

For the unfamiliar, OpenOffice.org Portable is the popular OpenOffice.org office suite -- including a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tool, drawing package and database -- packaged as a portable app, so you can take your documents along with everything you need to work with them with you wherever you go. It runs from an iPod, USB flash drive, portable hard drive, CD or other portable device on any Windows computer (or on UNIX/Linux via Wine) without installation.

OpenOffice.org is shipped with an older version of JavaSE(6.0.07) whereas the lates version is 6.0.11b3.
Builds without Java are available on the ftp: http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/openoffice/stable/3.0.1/

If the regular package from OOo has been installed, check if your Java has regressed to an earlier version; it may need to be re-updated. This is not an OpenOffice issue, rather a Java issue and is being worked on.

OxygenOffice Professional 3.0.1
We are happy to inform you OxygenOffice Professional 3.0.1 is available for download.
