OCZ Technology, a leading supplier of premium class DRAM- and flash-based products, this week unveiled the world’s highest-performance storage device for advanced desktops or workstations. OCZ’s Z Drive is a 1TB solid-state drive (SSDs) that offers unprecedented level of performance, but will come at a very high price.

OCZ Z Drive 1TB plugs into PCI Express x8 slot and features four 256GB multi-level cell (MLC) flash-based SSDs in RAID mode, which ensures read speed of up to 600MB/s and write speed of up to 500MB/s (sustained rates should be lower). Besides, to ensure blazing speed, the Z Drive sports 256MB of ECC DDR2 memory local cache.

much faster than formatting 6TB of the fastest SATA HDDs. Compared with the ususal drives it's snip with the fingers only.
