I intend on purchasing your product via the Bonjours May 29th offer. Meanwhile, I downloaded your trial version to be sure there were no conflicts with the software I already have. Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Version, SuperAntiSpyware, and WinPatrol all of which are realtime. I also utilize MBAM and RootKitRevealer on demand. My OS is Windows XP Pro, SP 3 and I am using IE8. Additionally, I periodically run Sandboxie and Returnil when I feel necessary. While I have been a computer user for quite a number of years I am quite inexperienced. When I installed the trial version and viewed the "Untrusted applications" there were a number of files. My question is am I safe if I do nothing else but rely on this or is there something else I need to do. I would appreciate any and all replies and would thank you in advance.

Without sandboxing, no anti-malware setup is complete. And this protection must be permanent.

I do not understand your reply. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. Do I need to do anything else or am I safe in relying on what is in the "Untrusted applications"? I suppose this would be like relying on the defaults in other programs. Or perhaps DefenseWall may be more complicated than what I need. Like I said I am very inexperienced when it comes to security programs. I have heard nothing but good things about the program and thought I would add it to my system.

Maybe, I was not clear too. Sorry. Sandboxing is highly important component nowadays, and DefenseWall has advantages (and, also, disadvantages) against SBIE. As for other real-time components- I believe, they are not so important as rely on blacklisting and can be penetrated or can to be used only in case of infection (but prevention is always better then cure!).

As about "is DW suitable for me" question- you can trial the program and make your decision. This is the only way to answer the question as, I believe, any software in the world have its own user.

Hi jpcummins,
DW is not complicated at all and you are safe with the default installation. I've been using it since three years now and I only have Antivir free along side DW. This setup is very
lite and I feel very safe. Never been Infected since then.
