The German IT magazine Heise online reports today about an installation of an Add-on for Firefox, without notificating the users.

Microsoft did install a '.NET-Frameworks Assistant' Add-on for Firefox without permission of the users. The installations were launched by using the ClickOnce-technic. More details about this technic can be read here and here. This Add-on gets installed since meanwhile month now.

Not really new "News" to all us Firefox users who were astounded to find a new extension hacked into our Firefox Profile Add-ons in late Jan/Early Feb. Adding insult to injury, the "Uninstall" function was disabled and greyed out.
