I have recently had to reboot my whole PC and when downloading some programs, like IMGburn, nro etc DVD shrink, these programs keep telling me I have no device present. I did try the Dr web stuff, this worked and all seemed fine. One I switched my PC off at the mains etc and when I loaded up, the exact thing happend, no devices present or no CD rom drives found.....Can you help....

Sounds like a CD-/DVD creator-cocktail of the worse kind. All the told programs are used for writing CDs and DVDs. One program should be enough or do you want to open a new company for creating CDs / DVDs? So...

..this doesn't make me wonder. Kay, lets try this:

1. Please check if you can find the missed drive at the Device Manager at CD/DVD drives. What does it tell you? Any yellow triangle warnings?
2. If it's not listed there Scan for new hardware. Whats the status after doing so?

If nothing helps:

3. Uninstall all mentioned CD / DVD writing prorams please, clean up the registry with f.e. CCleaner. Does the drive appear after a reboot?
