Doctor Web announces another update of its Dr.Web GUI Scanner included in such products as Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web anti-virus 5.0 for Windows, Dr.Web Enterprise Suite, Dr.Web for Windows Servers and in the Dr.Web AV-Desk service software delivered as an anti-virus service by providers.

The updated scanner can neutralize all known modifications of the Backdoor.Maosboot including its latest variation discovered in May and still undefeated by any other anti-virus.

Features incorporated in the update of Dr.Web GUI Scanner:

• improved anti-rootkit, New detection and neutralization techniques;
• capabilities for detection and neutralization of Backdoor.Maosboot that has a more sophisticated self-protection mechanism than its predecessor.

The Windows XP SP1 compatibility issue and several other errors in operation of the scanner have been fixed.

The compatibility issue between the scanner and NVidia Firewall related to the LSP Hook has been fixed.

Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web anti-virus 5.0 for Windows, Dr.Web Enterprise Suite, Dr.Web for Windows Servers, and the Dr.Web anti-virus service software will download the updated version of the scanner automatically.
