ditto
hey guys and girls.

with hope that DW can give me some more security i was again set up with one point:

HIPS sets my windows theme back to luna.

WinXP SP3, Eset v4, Outpost 3.5 - patched uxtheme, theme is Royal Remixed --> http://www.softonic.de/s/royal-zune

some facts - it has nothing to do with any other installed software.
and it happens on each system start
and its not limited on defensewall - comodo do same (d+)
and they dont have any answer - so i dropped comodo
latest outpost 2009 with its hips dont do so.
(i testet several programs till january)

Any hints? Thx

Hey Ditto!

Sure, go to msconfig- type msconfig in a run box. Then go to the startup tab. Uncheck everything that you either do not need to run Windows, or everything you think might be the problem. Then reboot. If the problem still happens, then uncheck some more. But if that cures the problem, then enable one thing at a time in the startup tab, with a reboot after each one. When you get to the one that again causes the problem... you've found your culprit. Let us know what the results are.

Well - wether or not DW is a good product.
But these are most annoying answers for me.
Dont treat me as a stupid...

DW has a unknown problem with uxtheme and blocks it from startup.
Its neither my system nor any software else.
The bad thing is - the missing logfile for that.

2 are fine - 2 are bad - and for a paid software at least too bad.
Maybe im am only 1 of 100 who has the problem the problem still exists.
And maybe i dont count - some people behind me trust in my opinion.

ciao

ditto, are you completely certain that after downloading the files, they were changed manually to 'trusted' or 'Run as trusted'...before being applied?

"DW has a unknown problem with uxtheme" - Negative...had absolutely no problems at all with XP custom theming & DefenseWall, for years.
