Do following:
1. Clean up "Events log" sheet ("Delete all"->"Apply").
2. Reproduce the issue.
3. Export DW's logs ("Events log"->"Export") into a file and post it here.

"module C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe, Attempt to read directly from the disk E:". Any ideas why it need to read anything from your drive directly, by sectors? What's the version of the program? I don't have such the issue at my computer with the 0.9.9 version of VLC.

I'm running the same version and I'm not having any issues.
One thing you might look at, under preferences-video, look and see if you have a video source directory specified on your E: drive. If so it may be scanning the sub-directory for new video to add to a play list.
Also, under advanced settings there is some things you can tell vlc to do automatically.

But why it requires to read DIRECTLY from the drive, avoiding its file system? BTW, what is the 'E' drive- CD, hard disk, removable?

OK, with the next version I'll allow direct cd/dvd read access for untrusted unless nothing is set as "secured" there. But, if you need it right now, just mail me to the support e-mail.

I had the same problem today as well with VLC 1.0 and DefenseWall. Disabling VLC in Untrusted area at least allows me to watch my DVD movies. Thanks for this thread and a solution, Brihy1, for nothing I tried seemed to work at all.
