Hi,
My wife is at a conference with our family laptop (has Windows 7 build 7201 on it). The hotel where she's staying has wireless for its guest. Our laptop for some reason can't connect to their network. There can only be three reasons why it can't connect...

(1) The firewall is blocking the connection.
(2) I've got in DefenseWall the option "Treat local area lan network as untrusted" checked.
(3) The trouble is on the hotels end.

My question...can me checking "Treat local area lan network as untrusted" be causing the problem?

My wife will be calling in about one and one half hours for me to try and fix the problem so I need a quick answer. She'll be there for three more days. She's into Facebook, Farm Town and YoVille so she'll be going into withdrawl soon unless she can get on-line. :).

Any help will be appreciated.

Well, it appears to be a problem with the hotels wireless setup for even after we disabled DefenseWall and the firewall she still can't connect. It tells her "Session has expired" after she enters the user name (our last name) and password (her room number) they told her to use.

Sorry for the trouble. Hopefully we can get this sorted out.

Thanks.

Final chapter...

The problem was on the hotels end. My wife is now connected. She's now, I'm sure, happily getting her Farm Town, Facebook, and YoVille fix for the day (what there is left of it...midnight here where I live).

DefenseWall and the firewall are both turned back on.

I'm relieved to have this problem solved.
