Does anyone have any suggestions to the best tune-up software out there? I have downloaded a bunch of demos and they all say that I have reg issues but I'm just not sure if any of them are worth purchasing. Any info on the topic would be greatly appreciated!

Basically I've been trying to do some cleaning. My system seems bogged down. I do frequently run Anti-Malware and cleanup. I did download a program called PC pit-stop and it said I had two things I could remove on startup (which takes too long) and over 200 reg issues. I didn't know if there is a piece or several pieces of software I can use to optimize my 7 year old computer. Please advise. Thanks in advance!

Two procedures can really help: Clean up temp and junk files and Defragment Disk.
(Windows clean-up utilities are not considered the best; they are usually 'light' version of better quality tool).

There's no clear answer as to 'cleaning registry' ..do it at your own risk because sometimes it can have a negative effect on operations.

Use Revo Uninstaller(free) to uninstall software as it 'cleans up' leftovers that programs leave behind.
Uninstall software you will not use; what's the use of having it taking up space.
Get rid (uninstall) extra toolbars. One search box or toolbar is enough; You'll gain more screen space!
Get the Portable version "Portable version available in ZIP file" (no install requried)
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninst...e_download.html

CCleaner(free) to clean all temp files out and then a good Defragmenter;
Make sure you go through the options first; Uncheck all Registry clean items if you don't want it to do that.
And make sure you go in the Cookies module and save really needed cookies; let rest delete.

Use CCleaner - Portable (requries no installation; just unzip and go) or CCleaner - Slim (no toolbars).

If your system is stable, keep an eye on Restore Points and delete oldest ones with CCleaner.
(Always keep latest one). Restore Points take up alot of space on hard drive.

JKDefragGUI (free) - This is a very good Defragger (jkDefrag+Emiel's GUI (again, no installation necessary).
Go through the options...this one does a very good job.

New version MyDefragPowerGUI will be coming soon.

Full package 'optimizers' can be useful, in that case look at Glary Utilities free.

These mentioned tools are very easy to use; as always, read the website information and read/check the Help File with the programs.
