Now that MSE has been released, I've tried running it with Defensewall and IE8 on Vista SP2 Home Premium.
The results shows a delay of 1-2 minutes trying to open each web page. The screen appears to freeze, but if I wait, the page will eventually open.
This is with MSE real time protection turned on. If I go into settings>realtime protection and uncheck "monitor file and program activity on your computer", pages open normally.
I know Ilya sent something to Microsoft on this problem during beta, any way to have the three softwares work together?

OK, I just posted a support ticket to the MSSE support.

Looks like I got very formal reply. And they need to contact you directly. Mail me to the support e-mail, I'll forward the message to you.

Ilya,
I've got a similar problem with MSE and DW. I use XP Pro SP3.
However mine locks up tight and requires a hard reboot.
I'm not going to pursue this until after I install W7 in a couple of weeks.
Just wanted you to know this isn't an isolated problem.

Well, the only thing I can say- MSSE support really suxx. They don't read what I write- instead of repairing their software they want me to to uninstall DefenseWall. The only problem is I don't have MSSE installed at all!!! I wrote about it twice- nothing, looks like robots on the other side. They just ignoring this fact and suggest me to uninstall DefenseWall.
Sorry, it's all I can do. If you want to have your system work- do not install MSSE. If you want to save your nervous- do not use MS support. Formal answers is their general line.

Hi
Just wanted to say this problem occurs with Windows 7 as well. MSE and DW do not currently work well together.

As for me I will not be using MSE at all. It's a resource hog. At least on my system it was using about 60 mbs of Ram and my whole system seemed to slow to a crawl. AntiVir is much better anyways and it plays nice with DefenseWall.

OK, now I got right reaction from the MSSE support team, they will lead the issue toe the R&D department. Hope, soon the compatibility problem will be vanished forever...

I just got a call from MSSE support team, they did address the issue to the development team. There are some other compatibility issues (with McAfee, for instance), so, this will be a big patch. They promised to inform me when the work will be done and the appropriate version to be uploaded.

If you take a look at the MSE Forums you will find that for most problems the general advice given is to uninstall all third-party security software. At the present time they recommend running ONLY MSE in real-time together with the Windows Firewall.
On one of my laptops I have been unable to run MSE with DW, Prevx or Threatfire.
I would be surprised if they quickly solved the general incompatibility problem; the new beta is apparently to help with automatic updating which does not work on some users machines.

Personally.....MSE would be going looooooong before DW does.

Hello,

This is the service of DefenseWall that protects (defensewall_serv.exe), not the DW in the systray (defensewall.exe).
MSE is shooted too easily.
