Gladiator Security Forums has decided to leave the membership of ASAP immediately. We at GSF did agree that continuing our membership is pretty much meaningless and I can't see any benefit of belonging or not belonging any longer.
Looking back at the history of ASAP, the founders tried to build up an organization which helped home users to get rid of any kind of malware infections. There were some simple but clearly defined rules for each individual who wanted to join ASAP.
One of the main rules for board owners was: the HJT service must be free of charge, it's not allowed to present any advertisments and/or related stuff and the HJT helpers must have gone through one of the HJT schools on the web.
Additionally, the ASAP orientated boards agreed to step in if an attack was mounted at a any other ASAP board, sending HJT members to other boards for learning and building a solid base for the fight against malware. That was the simple idea and it was a great one. But nothing of that ideas has left over the past years.
Time for us at GSF to move on. We wish the Best to all of you in your fight against Malware.
B. Udo Laumann (owner and host of Gladiator Security Forums on behalf of his staff)
